wireless router – any recommendation?

Summer season is getting close and I would like to sit (and work) in the garden sometimes. Therefor I guess it would be a good idea to upgrade my wireless router sometime.

At the moment I have a Netgear WGR614GR Wireless Kabel/DSL Router, 54 Mbit/s but it’s range may be wider to my opinion.

From most sites it is hard to compare routers on their range so if you have a recommendation please drop it here.

I have the NetGear WNDR3400 and its range is pretty nice.

Buy one you can install dd-wrt on. It can increaese the range but also add tonnes of other really useful and powerful features.

One think you can do with the router I mentioned is set it up as a repeater – great function…

I have a Cisco 3000 and I’m NOT happy (scheduled for dd-wrt reimaging). It advertised a guest network feature…. which turned out to be only available when you manage the router through their software. The webUI can’t.

I swapped from some Linksys equipment to an Apple Airport Extreme and I realised I should have done it a lot earlier.
