Bildr – planning some activities

For my project on OpenNTF I am planning some development activities tomorrow.

Mainly I will focus on improving the UI for the web browser (views, oneUI reusage). In case you have requests / ideas just post them here and I will see if I have time to embed them…

Hi Patrick. Nice to hear from you. Tomorrow I’m going to write a complete review of your Blidr Project. I have running your last code version and I only found a bug. Search code doesn’t work fine. It always “parses” the null value. You can test here: http://www.slug.es/album.nsf

While writing this comment I’ve found the tag “filter” or category “filter” fails when you select the second page results. I’m not sure while translating some strings I have done someting wrong.

Please drop me an email and I will suggest some things to avoid xpage “error” pages from my experience. I can’t paste here images, :)).

    Excellent work,

    Albert

Mark, that’s a very good idea and would allow to use the aplication on a Linux or Mac computer. Does not exist a Dojo Multiple File Uploader Control without the need of Flash ? You know, the ipad, the iphone….

    Thanks,

    Albert

There is a Dojo project called Deft for multiple file uploads but that also makes use of a Flash component. There hasn’t been much activity in that project for quite some time.

If you want to have iPad and browser support you could have a look at the HTML5 specs which has native multiple file upload support. Disadvantage is that you don’t have filtered browse dialogs and that HTML5 isn’t supported (yet) by all browsers (for IE comming in version 9). I’m also not sure if Domino can handle it already.

in the OReilley HTML5 book they talk about a JS libray called Modernizr to check browser support for HTML5. The usage does not seem like hocus pocus to me…

If you want a upload feature which lets user select multiple files at once you have to use some plugin like Flash or Java, because HTML/Browser have no builtin function (well a old Opera version supports it…) to do so.

Uploading pic by pic is very tedious, allow upload of zip-files šŸ™‚
Don’t know if unzipping by the server is easy to do on non-win platforms though.
