XPages: Unable to open database on other server

I have just posted a question on the Notes forum: link.

Showing data on an XPage in another database on the same server works, but showing data from the same database but on another server does not seem to work.

What can be the cause or is this a restriction? Both servers are on version 8.5.1…

xPages should be following the same security model as a regular web agent. So listing the target server as a trusted server in the server document may fix the problem..

the servers are in the same domain and everything so I assume that should not be a problem..

I don’t believe that just being in the same domain is enough. I think you need to make sure that they are listed in the Trusted Servers field of the server doc under the security tab. So the server that you’re trying to view data needs to have trusted the originating server I believe.

Baiju and David are both correct. You must list the querying server in the “Trusted Servers” field of the data sourcing-server’s Server document in the directory. Then it works like a treat. I’ve actually done quite a bit of testing on this.

And the XPage server should be listed in the ACL of the looked-up Database.

Thanks for the great tip. Really works as suggested.
